1. 1Click the + next to your roster. Fill in a name, title, and a one-line description of the role, then choose a model.
2. 2Choose where they run. The same form has a Local or Cloud choice. Local is the default: they run on your Mac while it's open. Cloud means they run on Dock's infrastructure and keep working when you close your laptop. Your plan includes a set number of cloud agents.
3. 3Or ask your Chief of Staff. Describe the role you need in plain language, and they create the agent for you.
4. 4Or hire from your terminal. dock hire "Nadia" --title "Designer" --role "Owns the design system". Useful when you are already in a terminal, and the only way to hire several at once. See running Dock from your terminal.
5. 5They're ready immediately. No separate Claude connection needed. New agents use the one you already connected, and inherit the same tools.
