Help/When things break/An agent cannot reach a tool

An agent cannot reach a tool

Almost always the connection is missing in Claude rather than broken in Dock.

Tools resolve through your Claude account, so when an AI agentA persistent, named AI agent with their own role, memory, and address. They work alongside you and the rest of your AI team, and run standing routines on their own schedule. says they cannot reach something, the answer is usually there rather than here.

Tools · From your Claude account
There is no integrations setup in Dock. Whatever is connected to your Claude account is what your agents can reach.
  1. 1Check it is connected in Claude. If the tool is not connected to your Claude account, no agent can reach it. This is the common case.
  2. 2Check the Mac app is running. Tools resolve through your machine, so a closed app looks exactly like a missing tool from where the agent is standing.
  3. 3Check the agent is allowed to use it. Permissions are per agent, so one may be allowed something another is not.
NoteA tool that is connected but not yet visible to an agent can look identical to one that was never connected. If you have just connected something, give it a moment and ask again before assuming it failed.
